Types of paragraphs

Do you know that there are different kinds of paragraphs depending on the message that you want to transmit? 

On this page, I will present you some types of paragraphs and their examples. 

The perfect paragraph

This kind of paragraph is perfect if you want to write about anything you want. You will have to use at least 150 words. As in every paragraph, it has a topic sentence, general statements, supporting ideas, and a concluding sentence.   

Descriptive paragraph 

This kind of paragraph provides descriptions based on the five human senses. You will have to describe every single thing. Going beyond the normal view, and paying attention to those little details.

Reason paragraph 

This kind of paragraph mentions the reasons why something is happening. 

Cause & Effect paragraph 

As its name shows, this paragraph is based on writing the causes and effects of a specific topic. 

Comparison paragraph 

If you want to compare the similarities about any kind of topic or contrast the differences of it, this is the type of paragraph that you have to write.

There is a bunch of paragraphs that you can write based on the message that you want to transmit in general, these are the most common paragraphs 

In the case that you want to write an essay, it is important to remember that you have to use at least 3 paragraphs. 

1. The introductory paragraph where you will write the topic, and the points that you are going to expose in your written text.

2. The body of the essay, here you will write general ideas. In addition, you will have to provide extra information. 

3. The final paragraph is meant to give a conclusion of everything that you have written above.

Do we have to know our students learning styles to teach properly?

Introductory paragraph 

As it is known learning styles are related to how students acquire information. This information could be acquired visually, orally, kinesthetically. When teachers impart their knowledge it is required to take into account these learning styles in order to permit the students learn in the best way that they could do it. Throughout this essay it will be detailed some facts of why it is important to know student´s learning styles to achieve a proper teaching process.

Body paragraph 

As first point, knowing student´s leaning styles will allow teachers to know how to teach properly.  Inside the classroom each student has its own way to learn. It means that not everyone going to acquire information in the same way that other person does. If a teacher knows that inside its classroom there are students that learn in different ways he/she will apply different methods to teach in an equitable way. Thanks to this everyone inside the classroom will acquire knowledge according its learning style. Secondly, the activities that will be use inside the classroom will have a great impact in the student´s learning. Activities as role plays, video activities, audio activities, activities that involve movements will be fundamental when teacher is sharing their knowledge. Therefore, knowing the learning styles of students will permit the teacher knows the proper activity and resources to use with the purpose of teaching in a successful way.

Concluding paragraph 

To sum up, if a teacher wants to teach properly it will be required to know what are the learning styles of its students. allowing them to acquire a proper knowledge and engaging them in a successful learning process in which everyone will have the opportunity to learn on its own way. Giving the teacher wisdom to know what activities apply and what resources will be needed in order to teach properly.
